  1. From this post it seems you might be interested in heading over to Arukiyomi for a copy of the new version of Arukiyomi’s 1001 books spreadsheet .

Along with calculating how many books you need to read a year before you die, there’s all the 2008 edition books, all those removed from the 2006 edition, links to wikipedia , amazon.com and .co.uk and Google books.

  2. Formidable list. There are some good names there. I’d have counted the books I’ve actually read but it would take a while! 😉 Really good list though.

  3. I did miss Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World which is to prefer (I personally think) to some of the other Murakami works (love the writer!).

  4. Eyglo – the beauty of this list is that it’s so vast which gives the challenger more options in their choices. I agree, it’s a marvelous list.

Are you also attempting this challenge?

  5. I looked and saw that I have definitely read 159 of these books, and started about another 20, so I feel slightly less daunted by the challenge.

  6. I like this list, I realized I have read quite a few of these books. Thinking I might also create a page on my blog and attempt some of the other pending books.

I must confess though that the thought of reading 120 days of Sodom or Justine is not very tempting. Will probably hold off on those until after you 😀
